Dora Jean (Consoli) Sherr, 85, of Lititz and formerly of Stony Creek Mills, died November 9, 2011 in Hospice of Lancaster County, Manheim Township.
She was the wife of Charles William Sherr, a resident of Lancashire Retirement Home, Lancaster, whom she married on June 11, 1946.
Born January 14, 1926 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Victoria (DeMaio) Consoli.
Dora was a 1944 graduate of Central Catholic High School, and attended both Albright and Alvernia Colleges.
She was employed in the payroll department with Maier's Bakery, Reading and later as a secretary with A.O. Smith in Lancaster.
Dora loved traveling, the Food Network, embroidery, any pink flower and gardening.
She collected recipe cards and would go to cooking classes at Blomingdales.
Dora is survived by her two daughters, Victoria Ann Sherr and Sandra Jean (Sherr) Hare and one grandson, Stephen Charles Hare all of Manheim Twp.
She was predeceased by four siblings, Marino Consoli, Orlando Consoli, Mildred Chlebowski, and Alfred Consoli.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. Viewings will be held Sunday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Monday morning 9:00 - 9:30 am in the Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc. 3300 Kutztown Road Laureldale PA, 19605. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
