Donna Marie Wright

Donna Marie Wright, 81, passed away on September 25, 2024, at her Spring Twp. home surrounded by her husband and seven children. She was the wife of Kevin T. Wright. They were married on December 27, 1965 and shared over 58 wonderful years together.

Born in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Hazel (Burdge) DeFrank. Donna graduated from Bangor Area High School in 1961 and East Stroudsburg University in 1965 with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. She taught physical education at Wilson Junior High, Bangor Area Jr. High, St. Ignatius of Loyola School, St. Joseph's Cabrini Academy, St. Francis Academy and Sacred Heart.

Donna possessed a strong Roman Catholic faith and was a devoted member of St. Ignatius of Loyola RCC. She loved her family deeply and lived for having them all gathered around her table at holidays. Memories of her wit and humor will keep us all laughing for years to come. She especially enjoyed attending the sporting events of her children and grandchildren. Her other interests included Italian culture, traveling to Italy, France and the Western US, reading and gardening. She felt strongly about supporting the unborn, the US military, the homeless, and Mary's Shelter.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: John A., husband of Niccole, Susan M. Lackman, wife of Matthew, Lee Ann Covell, wife of Paul, Joseph P., husband of Michelle, Mary C. Turner, wife of Gary, Michael F., and Kevin T. Jr., husband of Rachel. She was the proud Nonna/Mona to 27 grandchildren (Jacob, Aubrielle, John "Jack", Quinn - Briana, Nicholas, Nathan, Matthew - Christine, Lindsey, Anthony, Sawyer, Zachary - Cullen, Addison, Sammi, Theo, Bella, Nick, Joey, Gigi - Eden, Judah, Silvia - Tobin, Levon), four great-grandchildren and one expected great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Karen Brewer, wife of Kenneth. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Brendan Lackman and Marine Sergeant Dylan Young, and one great-grandchild, Micah Adams-Covell.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola RCC with interment at Gethsemane Cemetery to follow. A viewing will be held Sunday, September 29, 2024 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. West Reading. A second viewing will be held Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.
