Hamburg, PA- Donna Marie Snyder, 65 passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, at Orwigsburg
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Donna was born on April 15, 1958, in Northeast Philadelphia to Elsie (Manuola) Snyder and William J.
Snyder. She was raised in South Jersey where she attended local schools and graduated from Gateway
Regional High School in 1976. Donna earned a Certificate of Electro-Mechanical Drafting and Design
from Star Design School of Drafting and Electrical Engineering in 1982. She was a Documentation
Control Specialist and Technical Writer. A few of the places Donna worked at were Columbia Records,
Rohm & Haas, Mae Eitel, and the Salem Nuclear Plant. She was committed to community service,
having volunteered for many years as a poll worker and assisted others in her community to register to
vote.
Donna's generosity extended to aiding strangers by giving them a ride, handing out cash and assisting
the elderly with Meals on Wheels and driving handicapped people to appointments.
A passionate advocate for nature. Donna enjoyed hiking at Little Buffalo State Park, Beltsville Lake, and
Leaser Lake. She enjoyed driving through the mountains and exploring the historic town of Jim Thorpe
(Mauch Chunk). Donna loved attending the Mauch Chunk Opera House to see tribute bands.
Donna was a very passionate individual who loved discussing politics and attending rallies. She found joy
in going to festivals, fairs, and farmers markets and loved listening to live music. Donna also had a
fondness for Mediterranean cuisine and loved exploring new places and traveling. Additionally, she had
a deep spiritual side and cherished spending quality time with her loved ones.Â
Donna was a devoted aunt, friend, and sister. She will be missed by many including: sisters, Mary (Snyder)
Hulmes, Michelle (Snyder) Grahn & husband Robert; Brother-in-law Leonard White; nieces: Deneen
White, Denette White, Sandra (Hancock) Hetrick & husband Robert, Sakara Hancock, Ian Hancock,
Brianna; and life partner for twenty years, Paul Cooper of Hamburg. She also will be missed by her great
nieces and nephews.
Donna is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Debbie White, and niece, Brianna Hancock.
Her family would like to extend a sincere and heart filled thank you to all her friends and family who
visited her while she was in the hospital. Thank you to Lidia at DaVita Dialysis and Orwigsburg Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center who helped and cared for Donna over the last couple of months. Without
their help Donna's recent challenge would not have been so comfortable.
A celebration of life is being planned for Donna in April.
