Donna Marie Hess

Donna Marie Hess of Exeter Township passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the Reading Hospital leaving behind a legacy of love, family, education, and cherished memories that will remain with all who had the privilege of knowing her. Born on July 27, 1961, in Reading, PA, Donna was the cherished daughter of William and Fannie Hess of Wyomissing Hills. She was raised in a loving family and carried the values instilled in her by her parents throughout her life. Donna will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and caring spirit.

Donna was a proud graduate of Holy Name High School, Class of 1979. Alvernia University, Class of 1988. She later earned her Master's Degree at Bryn Mawr College. Family was at the heart of Donna's life. She was a devoted sister to her brother, Bill Hess, and cherished time spent with Bill and his wife Robin. She was a loving Aunt to nieces Mia and Celia, and her nephew William. Of all the time she spent with them, her favorite moments in life were spent in Stone Harbor and North Wildwood with her parents, brother, and nieces and nephew. The special bond she shared with her family was a source of great joy. Donna also cherished her pets, especially her dogs: Radar, Tipper Olivia, and Zoey.

Donna dedicated her life to helping others, founding Recovery Coaching and Life Empowerment Services, where she served as CEO. She also worked for many local organizations improving the lives of others including: John Paul II Center for Special Learning, Mid-Atlantic Veterans Resource Center, DaySpring Homes, Inc., Prospectus Industries, Berks County Adult Probation, Berks Counseling Center, Caron Treatment Centers, Counsel on Chemical Abuse, Children Home of Reading, Reading School District, Operation Head Start, Reading Area Community College.

Services for Donna will be announced at a later date.
