Donna L. Burkhart

Donna Lynn Burkhart, 53, of Mount Penn, passed away on Saturday February 2, 2013 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with uterine sarcoma.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of Ronald J., husband of Esther Wichlacz of Birdsboro and Kay E. (Savage) widow of Rodney Long of Wyomissing.

Raised in West Reading, where she attended primary and secondary school, Donna graduated from Monterey California High School.

Prior to her illness she was employed by Berkshire Podiatry as a Chief Podiatric Medical Assistant for 25 years.

Donna was a devoted wife to Scott W. Burkhart, whom she married in 1983 and the loving mother to Jennifer L. Weller and Lindsay K. Burkhart both of Cumru Township.

She is also survived by her sister, Linda M. (Wichlacz) Faust of Shillington. Donna enjoyed gardening, tennis, weekends boating at the Chesapeake, vacations to the beach and spending time with family, friends and the company of her daughter's Yorkies, Romeo and Enzo.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 12 p.m. in St. John's (Gibraltar) United Church of Christ, 57 St. John's Road, Birdsboro, PA. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service, in the church.
