Donata J. "Donald" Okonski, 75, died March 26, 2008 in his Reading residence.
He was the husband of Antoinette (Joffred) Okonski.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Roman and Leona (Klodziejska) Okonski.
Donata was a Pasting Plate Operator for General Battery, now Exide Corporation.
He was a decorated Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army.
Donata was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading.
He is survived by a son, Christopher M. Okonski, at home; and a daughter, Donna Marie Casino, Reading. He was predeceased by a son, Patrick J. Okonski. There is a sister, Cecelia, wife of Harry Reichardt, Shillington. He was predeceased by two sisters, Theodora Witek and Helen (Okonski) Zoiavithowski, and two brothers, Herman and Theodore.
Three grandchildren, Stephanie L. Okonski, Zachary S. Okonski, and McKenzie Okonski also survive him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 237 Franklin Street, Reading. Friends may call Saturday from 8 to 9 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to the Retinitis Pigmatosis Foundation, 1401 Mt. Royal Ave., 4th Fl., Baltimore, MD 21217.
