Donald H. Wise

Donald H. Wise, 92, of Reading, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Keystone Villa, Blandon

He is survived by his wife, Laura J. (Shivone) Wise.

Born in Leesport, he was the son of the late Amos E. and Verna H. (Hoch) Wise.

Donald was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. during WW II.

Donald was employed as a signal maintainer for 43 years working for Reading Railroad and Conrail. He retired in 1985.

He enjoyed trains and model railroads. Donald also collected stamps, loved photography, gardening and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by two sons: Jeffry L., husband of Sharon Wise, Gilbertsville; Steven D., husband of Susan Wise, Leesport : four step-children: Frederich A., husband of Margaret "Terry" Comegys, Wilimington, DE; Randolph J., husband of Patricia Comegys, Wilmington, DE; Mark A., husband of Letha Comegys, Middletown, DE and Laurie Lynn Comegys, Wilmington, DE. Four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive him.

Donald was predeceased by his first wife, E. Arlene (Burkhart) Wise, on October 4, 1978; two step-children: Terry L. and Leslie J. Comegys; a brother, Thurman A. Wise; and a sister, Fern M. Schearer.

Services will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Tuesday July 19, 2016, from 6 p.m to 8 p.m and also from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. before the service in the funeral home.
