Donald Wilbert Shaver

Donald Wilbert Shaver, 79, of Shillington, died November 3, 2013 in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township.

He was the husband of Barbara Helen (Spatz) Shaver, whom he married February 20, 1960.

Born in Monongahela, PA on November 12, 1933, he was a son of the late Charles Q. and Eleanore Anna (Brown) Shaver.

He was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Donald was employed for over 40 years as an engineer with AT&T/Lucent.

He was a United States Air Force Veteran.

Donald was passionate about reading and had accumulated a huge library.

He also enjoyed traveling, bowling, golf and going to Disney World and Myrtle Beach.

Other survivors include two children: Bryan K., husband of Marcella A. Shaver of Bernville and Deborah Lee, wife of Jesse G. Blimline of Kenhorst.

Donald is also survived by three sisters: Ruthann Reed of Lyons, Donna Meals of Kutztown, Joan Long of Leesport and four grandchildren: Albert, Jr., Jason, Zachary, and Sean.

He was predeceased by his sister, Constance Moore.

Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
