Donald Edward Seidel

Donald Edward Seidel, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away May 2, 2014 in his Boyertown residence, surrounded by his loving family.

His was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann (Hoch) Seidel, August 21, 2002.

Born June 1, 1942 in Reading, he was the son of the late Harold B. and Miriam Ann (Schnable) Seidel.

He studied engineering at Penn State University.

Donald was a supervisor for Met-Ed for over 30 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Donald loved the Lord and was very active in his church, Good Shepherd U.C.C., Muhlenberg Township.

He was a hard worker, but his passion was spending his retirement boating on his 33 foot Sea Ray with friends and family on the Chesapeake Bay. He was also an avid bowler and played in many leagues over the years. He was a wonderful husband, a caring father, brother, and a giving man. He will be dearly missed.

Donald is survived by his son, Jeffrey Seidel, husband of Jamie, Hamburg, and his grandchildren: Joseph and Jayden. He is also survived by his sister, Doris Lane, Reading.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Kuhn-Stitzel Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
