Donald Raker

Don Raker, 85, died Sunday May 7, 2017, in the Ware Presbyterian nursing home. He was the husband of Elizabeth C. Raker (Lewis) for the last 64 years, having married February 21, 1953. He was the son of the late George and Myrtle Raker of Kinderhook,PA. Don was well known in Berks County for the "Don Raker's Bond" chain of appliance stores which operated in the 1980's.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Todd and Ben Raker, 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons, Jonathan and Robert.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 12, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. A visitation will be held Friday from 12-1 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Diabetes Foundation, 4380 South Syracuse, Suite 430, Denver, CO 80237.
