Donald C. Potteiger

Donald Carl Potteiger, 69, died of natural causes January 28th at 7:05 am in his Wyomissing residence.

He was the husband of JoAnn (Bombinski) Potteiger.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Donald L. and Emma A. (Marinitz) Potteiger.

He was a 1954 graduate of Reading High School and a graduate of Wyomissing Polytechnical Institute.

Potteiger was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.

He was employed for 25 years in the research and development department at Bell Labs, Muhlenberg Township, retiring in 1990.

Potteiger was a Navy Veteran.

He was a past president of Full Circle Music Society, Reading and a past volunteer of the Wyomissing Fire Company.

Potteiger is also survived by a daughter, Nicole L. (Potteiger) Lopez of Wyomissing.

Other survivors include a brother, Charles C. Potteiger of Muhlenberg Township and two sisters, Nancy L. (Potteiger) Stefanik of Muhlenberg Township and Jane K. (Potteiger) Lenzi of Edwards, Ill.

There are also four grandchildren, Justina Lopez, Stephan Lopez, Carley Lopez and Austin Elder.

He was predeceased by a daughter Cheryl N. (Potteiger) Elder, who died May 28, 1998 and a sister, Doris E. (Potteiger) Duckworth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 am in St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield. Viewing Tuesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Avenue, Reading, Pa 19605.
