Donald Muller

Donald Lewis Muller of Shillington passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 after a long battle with cancer.

Don was born in Jefferson Hospital on March 13, 1946 to George Muller Sr., and Maria (Kepner) Muller. He grew up in Wildwood, New Jersey, and graduated in the class of 1964 from Wildwood High School.

He served in the United States Airforce at Lakenheath Airforce Base, London, England, and was honorably discharged in 1967. He graduated from Kutztown University in 1974 with a degree in economics, and later attended Temple University to pursue an advanced degree. He enjoyed a long career as a Human Resource Executive at Firestone Tire Company, Gilbert Associates, Quaker Maid Kitchens, and most recently Sunoco Oil Company where he ultimately retired in 2009.

Don was an avid fisherman, and loved surf fishing and boating on the bays in Ocean City, MD. He loved to travel with his wife, Mary, and they traveled together throughout the Caribbean and Europe. He especially enjoyed his time after retirement in Ocean City, and caring for his dogs, Roxy and Guinness.

He was a member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals and Clover Park Athletic Association, in Shillington.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Noon) Muller; daughter, Melissa, wife of Thomas Meyers, Philadelphia; son, Patrick, husband of Adrienne Muller, Camp Hill; brothers, Ronald, husband of Dorothy Muller, Shillington, Kenneth, husband of Svetlana Muller, Rio Grande, NJ, and George, husband of Sherylyn Muller, Cape May Courthouse, NJ; and sister, Elaine Tropea, Souderton. He was predeceased by his brother, Wayne Muller, and his surviving wife, Nancy Muller. Thirty nieces and nephews also survive him.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Entombment will follow in Gethsemane Mausoleum. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
