Donald P. Ketterer

Donald Paul Ketterer, 69, of Rehrersburg, Tulpehocken Township, died suddenly, August 14, 2009 in his daughter's Exeter Township residence.

He was the husband of Nancy Lee (Rothenberger) Ketterer, whom he married May 21, 1960; they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next May.

Born in Reading, PA on December 22, 1939, he was a son of the late Paul and Laura (Snyder) Ketterer.

He was a 1958 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

Donald was employed 37 years with Quakermaid Kitchens, Leesport, last working as a cabinet painter in 1996.

He later worked 15 years with Jeff's Large Truck Detailing, Bethel, last working August 5th.

Donald was a member of the Old Time Plow Boys Club, Kutztown.

He is also survived by two children: Nadine M. (Ketterer), wife of Terry L. Hohl of Exeter Township and Kelly L. (Ketterer), wife of Jeffrey A. Byler of Bethel Township.

Other survivors include a brother, William E., husband of Alice (Lynch) Ketterer of Muhlenberg Township and a brother-in-law, David B., husband of Roseann G. Rothenberger of Ruscombmanor Township.

"Pop-Pop Donny" was also loved by seven grandchildren: Andrea R. (Wentzel), wife of Jason Bashore; Amanda E. (Meck), wife of Dominic Cipolla; Joshua R. Wentzel; Michelle L. Meck; Michael C. Meck, Jr.; Jared J. Byler and Jenna L. Byler and a great grandson, Donovan R. Wentzel.

Donald was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his second great grandson.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm and Thursday 9:30 am until time of service. Burial will be in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery, Rehrersburg.
