Donald F. Gallagher

Donald F. Gallagher, 81, of Cleveland Avenue, Wyomissing, died Feb. 3 at 10:10 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Jan. 23.

His wife, Aileen M. (McNellis) Gallagher, died Aug. 23, 1992.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was a son of the late James and Loretto (Battles) Gallagher.

Gallagher was employed for 22 years as district manager by the Fuller Brush Co., Reading, retiring in 1996. He was also the owner of Aamco Transmissions of Reading, from 1967 to 1985.

He attended Catholic University, Washington, D.C.

Gallagher was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are three sons: James J., Lasmarias, Puerto Rico; Dr. Mark A., Alpena, Mich.; and Christopher, Plano, Texas.

Other survivors include three daughters: Tamara Gallagher, Stevenson Ranch, Calif.; Megan Gallagher, Los Angeles; and Melissa Gallagher, New York City.

There are also eight grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
