Donald C. Loomis

Donald C. Loomis, 86, of Mohnton, died February 18, 2015, in Phoebe Berks.

He was the husband of Patricia J. (Conrad) Loomis.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph and Gertrude (Stoeber) Loomis.

He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1946 and Wyomissing Polytech Institute in 1951.

Donald was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was employed by Met-Ed for 40 years, retiring in 1989.

Donald was a member of St. John's Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Michael C., husband of Ann Marie, Center Valley, Paul S., husband of Kathy, Wernersville and Audrey A., wife of Karl Nittinger, Shillington; his sister, Mary, wife of J. Patrick Prendergast, Whiting, NJ and seven grandchildren, Rachel, Nicole, Jillian, Molly, Elise, Tara and Lukas..

He was predeceased by his brother, Edward and his grandson, Andrew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de LaSalle R.C. Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, PA 19611 and Saturday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the church.
