Donald E. "Brad" Bradley, Lincoln Park, passed away at home on September 18, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan M. (Sunday) Bradley.

Born in Pawnee, Illinois, on February 27, 1936, Brad was the son of the late Taylor Bradley and Stella (Cutright) Bradley.

He had nine sisters and brothers, all of whom are deceased. Brad's teen years were spent in the care of the Dennison family, Robin, Elsie, and Bernard (Bear) his best friend. All have predeceased Brad as did his father-in-law, Raymond A. Roche, his brothers-in-law Pat Roche, Albert Sunday, sister-in-law, Clara McDowell (Sunday) Matthews, and nephews, Denny, Steve and George.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by his daughter, Deborah Joann (Bradley) Hess, wife of Henry D. Hess, Elizabethtown, PA. His two young grandsons are Henry Bradley Hess and Eric Bradley Hess. Upon meeting his wife, Brad quickly adopted her family as his own. Many times he expressed gratitude for being welcomed into their midst. Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Josephine (Lees) Sunday Roche, brothers-in-law Jack Sunday, Will Roche, Bob Roche, Dennis Roche and Gary Roche and sister-in-law Carol (Roche) DeGeorge. There are also numerous nieces and nephews. Brad will be missed.

Brad retired from the U.S. Navy in 1974; serving during the Korean conflict and in Vietnam as a hospital corpsman. He was proud of his military career. After the military he worked for Hayes Construction, Wyomissing, PA and lastly for Leinbach Hardware, Mt. Penn, PA.

Brad enjoyed meeting with his friends, gardening and cooking. He was an avid NFL fan, always rooting for the Washington Redskins, especially when they played the Philadelphia Eagles. Watching NASCAR was another favorite pastime.

A visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Inurnment will be at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA at a future date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 4 Park Plaza, Park Road North, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
