Donald W. "Rebel" Borden, Sr., 69, of Temple, died October 15, 2006 in St. Joseph's Hospital where he was a patient since October 8.
He was the husband of Linda L. (Schaedler) Manmiller.
Born in Burnsville, MS, he was the son of the late David G. and Meckie M. (Johnson) Borden.
He was employed by Reading Tube Cambridge-Lee Industries, Ontelaunee Twp. for 42 years retiring in 2001 as a foreman. He was currently employed by Transcontinental, Hamburg, last working October 7.
Donald was a graduate of Palestine High School.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Donald is also survived by eight sons, Jeffrey A. Manmiller, Shillington, Stephen M. Manmiller, Temple, Steven L. Borden, Chad A. Borden, both of Reading, Donald W. Borden, Jr., Sarasota, FL, John E. Borden, Mt. Pleasant, SC, David M. Borden, James L. Borden both of Sinking Spring and one daughter, Debra S. (Borden) Mitchell, Wyomissing.
Other survivors include one brother Jerry Borden, Powderly, TX and three sisters, Marie Borden-Miller, Forrest City, Arkansas, Doris (Borden) Waggoner, Hot Springs, Arkansas and Phyllis (Borden) Autrey, Palestine, Arkansas. Seven grandchildren also survive him. He was predeceased by one sister Joyce (Borden) Jones.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Laureldale. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
