Donald S. Blecher, 86, of Reading Boulevard, Spring Township, who was employed by Reading Eagle Company for 50 years, died May 30 at 1:20 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since May 8.
He was the husband of Ethel M. (Feltenberger) Blecher.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Claude and Fannie (Snyder) Blecher.
Blecher retired as mailroom traffic manager for Reading Eagle Company in 1982.
He was a charter member of West Wyomissing Chapel, where he was a trustee.
Blecher was an Army veteran of World War II.
He served as chaplain for the Gouglersville Senior Citizens.
Blecher is also survived by a daughter, Karolyn L. (Blecher) Schrufer, Wernersville.
There are also three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 7:30 p.m. in West Wyomissing Chapel. Private burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
