Donald E. Bare

Donald E. Bare, 77, passed away July 19, 2016, in his Reading residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was the husband of Jean Ann (Young) Bare whom he married on November 21, 1959.

Born in Wyomissing, he was a son of the late Harry and Emily (Keller) Bare.

Donald was a 1957 graduate of Wyomissing High School where he was an All-County defensive end on the varsity football team, and also played varsity baseball and basketball. He was voted Most Valuable Player of the Berks County Legion League while playing for the Shillington American Legion baseball team.

He served in the United States Marine Corps.

Donald was employed by Met-Ed for 29 years; later worked as a security supervisor for the VF Outlets for 10 years, and retired from the Wyomissing School District serving as a van driver.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two children: Deborah J., wife of David Parese, Douglassville; and Jeffrey A., husband of Traci Bare, Escondido, CA; and five grandchildren: Drew Parese, Emily Parese, Hannah Bare, Meagan Bare, and Lauren Bare.

Donald was predeceased by his brother, Harry Bare and twin-brother, Ronald Bare.
