Domenic C. Izzo, Sr., 94, formerly of Reading and Spring Ridge, died March 12, 2013, in Reading Hospital.
His wife, Marjorie M. (Gregory) Izzo, died May 20, 2012. They had been married for over 58 years.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late William Biagio and Pompilia (Cafoncelli) Izzo.
Domenic was a graduate of Reading High School in 1936 and American-Mitchell Sol Vogel Designing School, New York City, on April 17, 1947.
He was a veteran of the US Army serving during World War II.
Domenic was the co-owner and operator of Izzo Furs, Reading, with his brother Eugene, for his entire career, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
Domenic loved to travel and vacation with his family. A sports enthusiast, he always rooted for the Phillies and Eagles.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen A., wife of Raymond A. Mazurek, Spring Twp.; and Dr. Domenic C., Jr., husband of Linda L. Izzo, Wyomissing. Four grandchildren, Laura Mazurek, Michael Izzo, Daniel Izzo and David Izzo also survive him.
Domenic was predeceased by his three siblings, Michael R., Eugene J. and Rosemarie McCann.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery, with entombment to follow. Friends may call Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading.
