Dolores M. Stafford

Dolores M. (Ciarlone) Stafford, 94, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Charles H. Stafford, who passed away January 12, 2024. They shared 71 happy years of marriage.

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Minnie (D'Agostino) Ciarlone. Dolores graduated from Reading High School in 1947. After high school, she was employed by The Berkshire Knitting Mills as a seamer. Hosting family picnics, reading, playing cards with her granddaughters, and staying in contact with friends brought her joy. Dolores treasured spending time with her loving family, especially her granddaughters and great grandchildren. She was a long-standing member of Sacred Heart Parish in West Reading.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Jessica S. Zimmer, wife of John, of Millersville, MD, Gretchen S. Stoddard, wife of Earl, of Annville, PA, and Adrienne Stafford of Wernersville, PA; granddaughters: Sara Metzger, wife of Stephen, of Millersville, MD, Hanna Lacy, wife of Chris, of Severna Park, MD, and Alexis Baker, wife of Ben, of Annville, PA; and great grandchildren Rhodes, Wynn, and Calla Metzger, Brock and Daphne Lacy, and Charlie and Maeve Baker.

Dolores was preceded in death by her siblings, Casper and Alfred Ciarlone, Filomena Baloga, Irene Hill, and Geraldine Stacherski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 740 Cherry St., West Reading, PA, 19611. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery in Laureldale.
