Dolores M. Pentz

Dolores Mae (Hilberg) Pentz, 81, died August 14, 2011 in her Reading residence.

She was married June 11, 1949 to Richard Eugene Pentz, Sr., who died October 22, 2010.

Born July 29, 1930 in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late Earl C. and Florence (Siegfried) Hilberg.

She was a 1948 graduate of Kutztown High School.

Dolores was a member of St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church, Reading.

She was employed five years in the canteen at Boyertown High School.

Dolores was also employed with Dutch Colony Motor Inn in the housekeeping department.

She enjoyed cooking, canning and going to bingo.

Dolores loved accompanying her husband on fishing trips and being in nature.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed working with paper dolls.

Dolores enjoyed listening to Barry Manilow.

She is survived by three children: Richard E., Jr., husband of Diane L. (Miller) Pentz of Brecknock Township; James S. Pentz of Pike Township and Carole A. (Pentz), wife of Mark L. Candidi of Williamstown, New Jersey.

Dolores is also survived by a brother, Clifford M., husband of Judith M. Hilberg of Kutztown.

There are five grandchildren: Jenelle M. Taylor, Erin J. Colon, Jared R. Pentz, Paul M. Candidi and Daniel J. Candidi and eight great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's R.C. Church, 925 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601-2199. A visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass in the Church. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
