Dolores "Dee" Hiehle, 86, of Wyomissing, passed away on April 30, 2024. Born in Mullica Township, NJ, she was the daughter of Henry and Edith (Ingersoll) Bange. Dee was the loving wife of Dr. J. Frederick "Fred" Hiehle, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Dee was a 1953 graduate of Egg Harbor High School, where she excelled as a student and participated in many extracurricular activities, including the chorus. Following graduation, she attended Lankenau Hospital School of Nursing and then worked as a registered nurse for Atlantic City Hospital and Jefferson Hospital.
Dee was a faithful member of Atonement Lutheran Church, where she served as a church council member including a term as President. She lent her voice to the church choir, filling the sanctuary with beautiful melodies. In addition, Dee was an active member of the Women's Auxiliary at the Reading Hospital.
Dee loved nothing more than caring for her family, especially in her beloved home on Garfield Avenue, where she lived for 42 years. She was a superb cook, an avid reader, and expressed her creativity in her gardening and sewing. She also dearly loved her golden retrievers, participating in the therapy dog program at the Reading Hospital and supporting the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue.
In addition to her spouse, she is survived by her children: Dr. John Hiehle, husband of Marcia, of Swarthmore, PA and Kristina Hiehle, of Voorhees, NJ. Also surviving are her three grandchildren, Natalie, Maeve, and Greta and her brother, William Bange, husband of Catherine, of Stockton, NJ. Dee was a wonderful wife to Fred, who will cherish her forever.
