Dianne Anita (Bedard) Williams, 64, of Spring Township, died July 13, 2007 in the Reading Hospital.
She was the wife of Owen Williams, whom she married April 27, 1942.
Born in the Reading Hospital on July 27, 1942, she was a daughter of Ruth Helen (Adams) wife of Donald F. Heffley of Edgewater, Florida and the late Robert G. Bedard.
She was a 1961 graduate of Fleetwood High School.
Dianne was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Fleetwood.
She was the first person ever placed on a heart-lung machine which was done in 1959 in the University of Pennsylvania Hospital.
Dianne volunteered at church and loved Antiques and Jewelry.
She was employed with Polymer Corp., Northmont in Inventory Control; Western Electric, Muhlenberg Township; J.C. Penny's, Muhlenberg Township as a sales clerk for 14 years and last with Bonton, Wyomissing for 6 years as a sales clerk, before retiring in 2001.
Dianne was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #336; Reading Red Hats; Christians Women Club of Reading and the Reading Public Museum.
She is also survived by a daughter, Rhonda S. wife of George R. Colley III of Franklin, Tenn., and a son, Brian D. husband of Karen J. (Reed) Williams of Denver, Colo.
Other survivors include a granddaughter, Morgan A. Colley of Franklin, Tenn.
She is also survived by Gayle A. Leinbach of Mohnton.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale with the Rev. Janet V. Burns officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 25 Stevens Avenue, West Lawn, PA 19609.
