Diane L. Schwartz

Diane L. Schwartz, 70, of Reading, passed away at Penn State Health St. Joseph's Medical Center Wednesday, August 7. She was the loving wife of almost 54 years of Nelson E. Schwartz.

Born in Gouglersville, she was the daughter of the late James and Maude (Ringler) Blimline. She was born in the house her father and eldest brother built.

A caring and compassionate woman, Diane worked as a home-care nurse. She loved time spent with her family and her three dogs and cat. She always took care of others before herself, a trait she learned from her sister, Ruth, who raised Diane after the untimely and early death of their parents. Diane was a very funny lady who loved to laugh. Her family will always remember her for her honest, loving, and caring nature.

Diane is survived by her children Michael N. Schwartz, of Reading, and Lori Dautrich, of Reading. Also surviving are her grandchildren Jessica Adams, Julie Schwartz, Kristen Schwartz, George Smits, and David Smits. She is also survived by her siblings, Doris Werner of Phoenix, AZ, Ruth VanPelt of Reading, David Blimline, Sr. of Reading, and Donald Blimline of Lenhartzville and her many nieces and nephews.

Services for Diane will be held Thursday, August 15 at 11:00 am in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Friends and family are invited to view from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Sinking Spring. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with arrangements.
