Diane Louise Beckner

Diane Louise Beckner (Schell), a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on July 3, 2023, at the age of 60. Born in West Reading, she was the first-born daughter of David and Anna Schell (Kline). She was known for her big sense of humor and even bigger heart.

She was a 1980 graduate at ELCO HS and attended Luzerne County Community College for culinary arts. Her culinary talents led to a career as a waitress gracing the tables of numerous local restaurants including Dixie Drive-In, Risser's, and Wild Wings at the Reading airport. She was also a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Myerstown.

Diane had a creative flair that she expressed through her many hobbies including jewelry making and perfecting her own baking recipes. Most important to her was spending time with her family and friends. She was known for her loving spirit, and her willingness to always lend an ear.

In later years, Diane's health declined, and she faced various health issues with courage and determination. She was most grateful for the care she received from her caregivers and those who supported her. Despite the hardships, her spirit remained unyielding, and she continued to find joy in life's simple pleasures.

Left to treasure her memory, in addition to her parents, are her sister, Carolyn Kline (Michael) of Virginia along with their two children, aunts, cousins, friends and her beloved cat Matty.

The memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Berks County (or an animal rescue of your choice), and the American Cancer Society.
