Dewey Erwin Mcmurren

Dewey Ervin McMurren, 74, of Exeter Township, passed away on March 16, 2025 in the comfort of his home. Born in Virginia Beach, VA, he was the son of William Ervin McMurren, Sr. and Geneva (Chappell) McMurren. Dewey was the loving husband of Shari (Quaintance) McMurren with whom he shared 21 years of marriage.

After graduating from high school, Dewey received his Bachelors degree from Antioch University, where he became a maintenance superintendent. Dewey proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard.

With a love for the outdoors, Dewey was a modern day Daniel Boone. You could often find him fishing with Shari by his side. Known as the provider in his family, there was no shortage of fish for meals. Dewey was also a lover of music.

In addition to his spouse, Dewey is survived by his children: Dewey Spradley, Tamika McMurren, Twanda Wiggins, Cierra Glover, and Jalyn Brown. He will be missed by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Dewey is also survived by his siblings: Donnell (Jabriel) McMurren, Roosevelt McMurren, and John McMurren.

He was predeceased by his son, Hakim Amin, sister, Helen Brooks, brother, William McMurren, and brother, Louis McMurren.

A committal service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 2PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
