Dennis Michael "Bright" Breitenstein, Sr., 66, died September 23, 2012 in his Cumru Township residence.

He was the husband of Kaye Diane (Gleason) Breitenstein, whom he married February 4, 2012.

Dennis was the son of the late William and Florence (Meo) Breitenstein.

He grew up in Milmont with a wonderful core group of friends and always looked forward to the reunions where they could reminisce about old times.

Dennis worked for Pottstown Metal Welders, for 14 years; Wyomissing Hills Police Department for 14 years; Milmont Hotel as a bartender; R&R Amusements for 20 years and Reading Phillies Stadium for 16 years. He retired July 1, 2011.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting pool and spending time with his family and friends, especially at Camp Pagoda in Potter County.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Dennis M. Jr., husband of Jessica Breitenstein, West Lawn; Shannon, wife of Alex Casantini, Shillington; Rebecca Breitenstein, Laureldale and Mary Jo Fowler, Charlotte, NC; a sister, Delores Kachel, wife of Brian Gilbert, Reading; and six grandchildren, Alyssa, Adriana, Landen, Jaden, Dante, and Brandon.

Other survivors include a special niece, Michele Reber who did so much to help him during his sickness; a special brother-in-law and his wife, Chuck and Brenda Gleason and their family and his "extended family," Jeff, Debbie, Hana and Marissa Bitting.

He was predeceased by one nephew John Kachel.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday at 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, PA 19611. A viewing will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
