Dennis Roscoe Haag

Dennis R. Haag, 79, of Hamburg, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 22, 2026. He was the loving husband of Betty (Schrack), with whom he shared over 60 years of marriage.

Born in Reading to the late Roscoe and Emily (Strausser) Haag, Dennis graduated from Schuylkill Valley High School in 1965. For over 40 years he worked at John M. Hill Machine Company Inc where he started as a machinist. As the company grew, he became a foreman over seeing new packer bodies and trailer assembly. He retired in 2008.

Over the years he was a member of the Centerport Grange, local fire companies, and Lucky 13 Hunting Camp. While a member at St. Michael's Church, he served on the church council, as a superintendent of Sunday school, a youth group leader, and a Sunday school teacher.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife Betty. A very memorable journey was spent walking up Lombard Street, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, and riding the cable car half-way to the stars.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and farming. He loved taking his sons fishing and enjoyed week-long fishing trips in Canada. Dennis liked to bike, hike, and play football and baseball with his sons. He was a passionate fan of the Eagles and the Phillies.

Left to treasure his memory is his wife, Betty; their sons, Scott Haag, husband of Brenda, of Douglassville; grandchildren, Kolby Haag, husband of Anneke, and Willow Haag, and Brian Haag, husband of Rebecca, of Rehrersburg; and siblings, Linda Fritz, wife of Robert, of Murfreesboro, TN, and David Haag, husband of Mary, of Mohrsville.

Contributions in Dennis's memory may be made to St. Michael's Church, 529 St Michaels Rd, Hamburg, PA 19526.

Services for Dennis will be private at his family's convenience. Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
