Dennis J. Green

Dennis J. Green, 71, of Lower Alsace Twp., passed away September 12, 2012 in his daughter's Exeter Township residence.

He was the husband of Kathryn R. (Albright) Green; they were married on June 25, 1966.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John C. and Ruth M. (Holt) Green.

He was a 1958 graduate of Reading High School and graduated from both Kutztown and West Chester Universities, earning his Bachelor's and Master's degree respectively.

Dennis was a teacher for over 30 years, for Lower Merion School District and later Reading School District.

He was a member of St. Catharine of Siena R.C. Church, Mt. Penn, where he served as an Eucharistic Minister. Dennis developed and ran the annual praise and worship service at St. Catharine's. He was a member of the Cursillo movement, where he served as a rector.

Dennis was a member of Antietam Valley Jaycees. He enjoyed all sports and played football while at Kutztown and swam, wrestled and played football for Reading High School. He was an avid reader, hunter and loved the beach, traveling and hiking with his dogs.

He is survived by his three children: Suzanne, wife of Erik Nordhoy, Exeter Township; Michael, husband of Bobbi Jo Green, Mt. Penn and Kimberly, wife of Patrick Dolan, Reading. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren: Maren, Maddie, Adam, Jaden, Annika, Amelia, Sophia, Mairead and Liam.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 7 p.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R.C. Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township. A viewing will be held Monday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. in the church. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Catharine of Siena R.C.
