Dennis J. Dietrich

Dr. Dennis J. Dietrich, 62 of Hamburg died in Lehigh Valley Medical Center on October 24, 2011. His beloved wife, Cynthia L. (McCarthy) Dietrich died October 17, 2008. Dr. Dietrich was born in Grove City, PA and was the son of the late Frank Dietrich and Mildred Heginbotham. Dennis was a 1966 graduate of East Brady High School. He was also a graduate of the former Edinboro State College where he received his B.S. in Education in 1970 and his M.Ed in 1971. Dr. Dietrich received his Ph.D. in education in 1978 from The University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Dietrich was a Professor of Education, Department of Special Education at Kutztown University for 33 years, retiring in 2011. He was a member of St. Mary R.C. Church, Hamburg and a member of the Hamburg Moose, Lodge # 523. Dennis is survived by two sons, Steven D. husband of Vicki Dietrich, Hamburg and Dr. Joseph J. husband of Carla Dietrich, Pittsburgh. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening, October 27th from 6:00 to 8:30 PM in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg.
