Deena (MacDonald) Andrus, 47, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly November 22, 2011 in her Cumru Township residence.

She was the wife of Edward Y. (Ted) Andrus. They were married on May 24, 1986. She is survived by her son, Mark, age 10.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Dr. Gerald J. and Gameela.(Khaleel) MacDonald of Doylestown, PA.

She was a 1982 graduate of CB West High School and a 1986 graduate of Villanova University where she was an NCAA national level member of the swim team. She earned her MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1996.

She had worked in sales and product management for different medical manufacturers and distributors, the most recent being Surgical Specialties in Exeter.

In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by her sister, Dr. Mary MacDonald of San Diego, CA and numerous uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.

An avid member of the local Pagoda Pacer Athletic Club, she was a fixture in the local running community as an extremely accomplished runner, race director and volunteer. She was also involved with numerous other local charities and community groups touching the lives of all who knew her.

Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be Sunday 4 to 7 p.m. and Monday 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home with a service will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Cumru Township.
