Debra (Ely) Chesney, 52, of Oley, passed away suddenly Thursday, February 3, 2011 in her residence.
Born in Reading, she was the wife of Russell Chesney of Dayton, OH, and the daughter of William and Barbara (Adam) Ely of Oley.
She was employed as a clerk by Turkey Hill in Pottstown. Previously, she worked as a mail carrier in Springfield, Ohio for eleven years before recently moving back to Oley.
Debra was a 1977 graduate of Oley Valley High School.
In addition to her parents and her husband of seven years, she is survived by a son, Zack Wagner and his companion Heather Lowry of Dayton, OH; a daughter, Stephanie Wagner and her companion Shane Venard of Dayton, OH; four brothers: Jeff Ely of Oley, Terry Ely of Boyertown, Randy Ely of Fleetwood, and Greg Ely of Muhlenburg; her paternal grandmother, Annie Ely of Kutztown; three grandchildren, Caleb, Holden, and Holly; and her first husband, Stephen Wagner of Mohnton. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Debbie Ely.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St., Oley, PA 19547 with Rev. David R. Rowe officiating. Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Debra Chesney Memorial Fund can be made out to and mailed to Blankenbiller Funeral Home at the above address.
