Deborah Jean (Lorah) Zuber, 52, of Maidencreek Township, died September 3, 2011 in Johns Hopkins Medical Center, Baltimore, MD.

She was the wife of Kenneth Lee Zuber whom she married May 22, 1993.

Born May 3, 1959 in Reading, she was a daughter of Rosealene J. (Kocher), wife of John A. Essig of Maidencreek Township and Henry A., husband of Elizabeth Lorah of Ontelaunee Township.

Deborah was employed as a sorter and machine operator with RTC Direct Mail, Shoemakersville for 12 years. Prior to that she was employed with various mushroom houses in Berks County.

She was a member of Blandon Mennonite Fellowship Church, Maidencreek Township.

Deborah enjoyed going to sporting events for her children.

She loved Mountain Dew and doing crossword books.

Also surviving are three children: Katie J. Zuber, Kenneth L. Zuber, Jr. and Kelly Ann Zuber, all at home.

Other survivors include eight siblings: Henry Lorah, Jr. of Ontelaunee Township, Gene Essig of Maidencreek Township, Gregg Essig of Windsor Township, Chris Essig of Tioga County, Cindy Hollan and Audrey Essig, both of Maidencreek Township, Margie Quirin of Shoemakersville and Samantha Essig of Maidencreek Township.

In addition, there are 16 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews and a great great niece.

Deborah was predeceased by a sister Loretta A. Essig who died January 10, 2009.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service in the funeral home.
