Deborah J. Rader

Deborah J. "Debbie" (Coleman) Rader, 64, of Marion Township, passed away June 18, 2015 with her loving daughters and husband by her side. She was very strong and courageous right up to her passing.

She shared almost 46 years of marriage with her best friend Barry D. Rader. Together they loved to travel to Sanibel Island, Hilton Head, Cape May and spent many years boating on the Chesapeake Bay. They also enjoyed bird watching, spending time with their family and friends and walking their neighborhood with their dog, Cassie.

Born in Reading on July 17, 1950, she was the oldest daughter of the late Arthur Jr. and Peggy (Evans) Coleman.

She graduated from Reading Senior High School in 1968 and Reading-Muhlenberg Vo-Tech in 1969 earning her license in practical nursing.

Debbie was a compassionate, hard working caregiver and made her career in geriatric nursing for over 40 years. She last worked for the Golden Living Center, Exeter Township, retiring in March 2014, after 28 years.

Above all, her family was the most important thing in her life. She was an extraordinary wife, mother and grandmother. She overflowed with unconditional love and pride for her daughters and grandchildren. Debbie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, attending their sporting events, musical concerts and hikes at Hawk Mountain. She was a true inspiration and role model to her daughters who became the mothers they are because of her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Kathy, wife of John Reedy, Jefferson Township and Kelly, wife of Alex Arnold, Wernersville; four siblings, Arthur, husband of Gale Coleman, Reading, Judy, widow of James Orrs, Mohnton, Patricia, wife of Jeffrey Law, Reading and Marybeth, wife of Joseph Torchia, Robesonia and nine grandchildren: Emily, John, Anna and Caroline Reedy and Abby, Gabe, Ben, Sam and Luke Arnold; her mother-in-law, Ida B.
