Deacon George J. Faller, 85, of Lower Alsace Twp., died August 26, 2007 in St. Joseph's Hospital, where he had been a patient since Monday.
He was the husband of Anna M. (Angelo) Faller, recently celebrating 64 years of marriage on August 19.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late John and Loretta (Brensinger) Faller.
He was a graduate of Reading High School in 1939 and Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute in 1942.
George was the Chief Engineer for General Seating and Sash Co., Topton for 22 years retiring in 1984.
Deacon Faller was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Twp., where he was also a member of it's 50 plus Club. He was ordained a Permanent Deacon at the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown in 1982 and has served the St. Catharine Parish Community since his Ordination.
Deacon Faller served as the Chaplain for the Travelers Protective Association.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #793, where he had served as Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree, Pius IX Assembly.
Deacon Faller was Past President of the Serra Club of Reading from 1976 to 1977.
He was a member of the Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Karl G. husband of Karen Faller, Folly Beach, SC. Two grandchildren, Joel E. Faller and Courtney M. Faller; and one great granddaughter, Cecelia Faller.
He was predeceased by one son, Army Corporal Joel E. Faller, who died August 22, 1967 in the Vietnam War.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Catharine of Siena R. C. Church, Exeter Twp. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church. Contributions may be made to St. Catharine of Siena School 2330 Perkiomen Avenue Reading, PA 19606. Edward J.
