Deacon Lawrence A. Dudeck

Deacon Lawrence "Larry" A. Dudeck, 76, died October 25 in his Oley residence.

He was the husband of Mary A. (Slovik) Dudeck.

Born in Bloomsburg, he was the son of the late John R. Sr., and Hazel M. (Witchey) Dudeck.

Larry was a 1948 graduate of Beaver Township High School. He also attended Bloomsburg College and Ursinus College, Collegeville.

He was an accountant and owned his own accounting business.

Larry was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was a member of St. Columbkill's, Boyertown.

Larry was ordained a permanent Deacon in the Diocese of Allentown on October 16, 1982. His ministries were St. Columbkill's, Boyertown, Most Blessed Sacrament, Bally, and most recently at Holy Rosary, Reading.

Larry also served as chaplain at Allentown Hospital, Reading Hospital, Hamburg Center and Berks Heim.

He is survived by one son, Daniel A. Dudeck, Boyertown, and one daughter Diane T. (Dudeck) Roberts, Oley.

Other survivors include one brother John Dudeck, Jr., Bloomsburg.

There are also two grandchildren, Jason and Christina Roberts.

He is predeceased by one son, David J. Dudeck, and one grandson, John Dudeck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 237 Franklin Street Reading, PA 19602. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. all at the church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to, Holy Rosary Church at the above address, St. Columbkill's, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, PA 19512 or Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza Pottsville, PA 17901.
