Dawn L. Groh

Dawn Lynette (Seidel) Groh, 69, of Laureldale, died July 30, 2009 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township.

She was the wife of Edward Scott Groh, whom she married September 24, 1960.

Born December 2, 1939 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late George Levan and Kathryn Rosanna (Ulmer) Seidel.

Dawn was a 1957 graduate of Muhlenberg High School.

She was employed by Mast and Moyer Insurance Agency, Inc., Reading as a corporate secretary and general office manager for 40 years, retiring in 1998.

Dawn was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale. She was also a member of the Laureldale and Alsace Senior Clubs and Golden Muhls Club. She was an active volunteer for Berks County Heritage Center as well as Muhlenberg Township Parks and Recreation.

In addition to her husband, Dawn is survived by two children, Jeffrey Allen, husband of Sari Adina (Simon) Groh of Mercer Island, Washington and Kelly Marie Groh of Laureldale.

Other survivors include a brother, Irvin Robert, husband of Frances Ann (Kummerer) Seidel of Muhlenberg Township and a sister Barbara Ann (Seidel), wife of Christie Lee Mills of Laureldale.

There are also three grandchildren surviving: Olivia Erin, Bailey Alexander and Maya Elizabeth Groh, all of Mercer Island, Washington.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. There will be a visitation held from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
