David A. Walls

David Allwin Walls, 75, of Earl Township, passed away July 19, 2013 in Reading Hospital & Medical Center.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Rev. Allwin A. and Bernice M. (Grainger) Walls.

David was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Oley.

He was a 1956 graduate from Reading High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from East Stroudsburg University in 1960.

David was physical education and health teacher at Muhlenberg School District for 30 years, where he was also a football and wrestling coach.

He proudly served in the Army Reserves.

David's passion in life was singing. He sang with many groups including: Reading Choral Society, Reading Leiderkranz Singers, Jonathan Griffith Singers, Berks Grand Opera Chorus and Reading Civic Opera.

He was formerly married to Sylvia Nagle, Laureldale.

He is survived by his daughters, Andrea E. Walls Paia, HI and Jennifer J. Hofmann, Berwyn, PA.

Additional survivors include his sisters, Marian Baker, Reading; Linda Care, Birdsboro, and Barbara Shirey, Oley.

David is also survived by his grandson, Evan A. Hofmann.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in Blankenbiller Funeral Home, 423 Main St. Oley, PA 19547. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
