David A. Schell

David A. Schell, 65, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl L. (Shuman) Schell. They married in September of 1980, and spent nearly 46 wonderful years together.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Howard and Jean (Orth) Schell. David was an honest and hardworking man, who devoted his life to providing for his family. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, listening to music, and socializing with friends. In his younger, healthier years, he enjoyed hiking, biking, fishing, camping, dancing, traveling and swimming in the ocean. He knew how to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, and what truly mattered most. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, fun loving nature, and warm hugs.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Many Schlachter; son-in-law Brian Schlachter; grandchildren: Nicole Marko, Sierra Schell, and Hailey Laguidara; and sisters: Doris Schell, Besty Hartman, and Lindo Sittaro. He is predeceased by his son, Troy Schell; his brother, Terry Schell; and his parents-in-law, Herbert and Shirley Shuman.

A private burial will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be held in mid September. Family and friends will be notified with the details. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's honor to purchase toys for children in need this Christmas - a cause he participated in every year, and held near and dear to his heart.
