David Lewis Roche

In the evening hours of Wednesday, June 10, 2015, David Lewis Roche, 76, of West Wyomissing, PA, died in ManorCare, Sinking Spring. Son of the late Irene (Bachschmidt) and John A. Roche, he joined his brothers Jack, Fred and Edward Roche in heaven. Born in Shamokin, PA and a 1956 graduate of Reading High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps graduating boot camp at Parris Island, SC in 1956. After serving his country for 4 years, David worked at Westinghouse Elevator, Safety Table Machining, Boscov's Department Stores and in 1974 he founded Dave Roche Electric, Inc. where he served as President and CEO until retiring in 2007.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hildegarde (Crammer) Roche; his son David R. Roche and daughter-in-law Joanna Roche of Kenhorst, PA; his daugher Tamela Roche of Boston, MA; his sister Irene (Roche) Curtier and husband Benjamin of Reading, PA; his brother Robert Roche of Mohnton, PA; his grandson David M. and wife Tatiana; his grandson Christopher D. and wife Chey Ann; his great-grandchildren Edwin Rebeiro, Timothy Roche and Mazie Roche.

David was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Rajah Shrine. He served as president of the Reading Chapter of the Electrical Association and the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society.

An engineer at heart, David was fascinated with machines, electronics and trains and loved to work with his hands to build things. While an Electrician at Boscov's he enjoying helping with the music and lighting for their fashion shows. A huge fan of Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, the Beach Boys and Elvis; he also enjoyed the beach, his pool and his Manhattans on a Friday night.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Advent Lutheran Church, 16 Telford Avenue, West Lawn, PA 19609 where he was a lifetime member.
