David R. Long

David R. Long, 93, of Wyomissing, passed away October 2, 2012 in The Berkshire Center.

His wife, Jeannette (Poffenberger) Long, died September 21, 1983.

Born in Strasburg, he was the son of the late J. Herbert and Lizzie (Pugh) Long.

David was a graduate of Strasburg High School.

He retired in 1989 from Sun Bank of Baltimore as a courier.

David was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII.

He is survived by his step daughter, Betty Behm, Wyomissing; his sister, Mary Garbrick, Strasburg and his three grandchildren: Jacqueline Beck, Jeffrey Behm and Heather McDonough. Three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson also survive him.

David was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy McDonough.
