David Franklin Quimby

David Franklin Quimby, 67, of West Lawn, died on October 10, 2024, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary (Luczewski) Quimby.

David was a 1974 graduate of the former Mount Penn High School and attended trade school. After graduating, he worked for Dave Roche Electric and became a master electrician. He later spent 37 years in the maintenance department at CarTech.

David was passionate about coaching youth soccer and basketball for Wilson and St. Ignatius. He enjoyed pistol shooting, riding his Harley, and hunting. He cherished trips to Cabo with his wife and loved spending time with their dogs—Kodi, Beau, and Meko. Most of all, he delighted in playing with his grandsons. A member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church in West Lawn, David recently celebrated 45 wonderful years of marriage with his wife on October 6, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kulak) Quimby, and his daughters, Victoria (Quimby) Nigrini of Sinking Spring and Kristen (Quimby) Paskowski, wife of Kip, also of Sinking Spring. He is further survived by his brother, Kerry Quimby, husband to Linda, and his three grandsons: Austin, Bryce, and Kane. David was predeceased by his sister, Dolores Quimby.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 3 to 4 PM, followed by a service at 4 PM at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be private. A celebration of life will be held at the conclusion of services at Dans at Green Hills, 2444 Morgantown Rd, Reading, PA 19607; all are welcome.
