David Lance Pocius passed away on July 28, 2025 at Reading Hospital.
David was born in Quakertown and grew up outside of Pennsburg, PA. He was a 1975 graduate of Quakertown Community High School. He continued his education at University of Hartford where he earned a Bachelor Of Arts Degree in Secondary School Teaching in 1979. He was employed as a Junior High School History teacher at Upper Perkiomen Middle School for one year and left that position to travel. He began a new life in San Francisco, California where he was employed as a buyer for Macy's and then as a Manager for Bed Bath & Beyond, from which he retired. He returned home to Pennsburg in 2009 to be near his family.
He was very active in work and his social life in California where he made many new friends. He spent time with his mother in Pennsylvania until she passed and then he moved to Fleetwood where he bought his dream house with an inground pool that became his hobby and the love of his life.
David attended Senior Life of Reading in Exeter since 2015 where he was extremely happy with the new friends he met there and the staff. They all enjoyed David very much. They said he was the light in the room when he would arrive, always with a smile on his face and ready to help anyone he could. David was a very loving, caring man and was loved by many.
David was predeceased by his father John Pocius and his mother Stella (Chobot) Pocius, both of Pennsburg, PA.
