David P. Smith

David P. Smith, 50, formerly of Reading, died Sept. 1 at 2:25 p.m. in his Kansas City, Mo., residence.

The cause of death is under investigation by the Jackson County, Mo., coroner's office. No further information was available.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph P. Smith and Joan (Smith) Alderigi.

Smith had been last employed as an automobile repairman in Missouri.

He was a graduate of Gov. Mifflin High School.

Smith is survived by a brother, Michael, Reading, and his stepfather, Oliver Alderigi, Media, Delaware County.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel, Laureldale. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
