David Michael Gabrielli, 72, passed away on March 31, 2026. David was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, on February 17, 1954. David was the beloved son of Marian (Razzano) and the late Gabriel Gabrielli, the middle child of the family, flanked by two sisters on either side.
David, a proud graduate of Southern Junior High School (1970) and Reading High School (1973), received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Alvernia College after his service in the US Marine Corps. David also served in the Army National Guard. David had a long career in law enforcement where, for nearly 30 years, he served as a K9 handler for the Reading Police Department, before transitioning to a Deputy Sheriff position until his retirement in 2020.
David enjoyed boxing, hunting, and big dogs. David's passion for dogs enabled him to excel as a K9 handler. He was a skilled handyman and often tackled projects large and small around his home. David was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church, a lifetime lodge member at Victor Emmanuel II, and a devoted human companion of German Shepherds.
In addition to his mother, Marian, David’s memory will be cherished by his children, Brittany Gabrielli-Balaguer (Derek) of Delaware and Daniel Gabrielli (Suzanne) of Germany; his four sisters; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611.
