David W. Lutz, 62, of Reading, died of natural causes January 14th at 9:58 am in St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he had been since Friday.
He was the husband of Shirley A. (Gehris) Lutz.
Born in Reading, he was a son of Alberta (Goheen) Lutz of Reading and the late Kenneth L. Lutz.
He was a graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School.
Lutz was employed 20 years as a crane operator at Dana Corp., Reading before retiring.
He was a Air Force Veteran.
Lutz is also survived a son, James M. Lutz of Fleetwood and two daughters, Christa A. (Lutz) Sheetz of Reading and Lisa M. (Lutz) Hart of Bethlehem.
Other survivors include three step-sons, John W. Angstadt of Reading, Donald R. Freeman and Michael D. Freeman both of Chicago and two step-daughters, Brenda L. (Freeman) Hoyer and Vicki L. (Freeman) Morrison both of Reading.
He is also survived by two brothers, Christopher Lutz of Mount Penn and Thomas M. Lutz of Albion, Pa.
There are also 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, David M. Lutz, who died November 1993.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Viewing one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township. Contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., 25 Stevens Ave., West Lawn, Pa 19609.
