David L. Miller

David L. Miller, 82, passed away June 26, 2015 in the Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Lois C. (Coller) Miller whom he married February 11, 1956.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Wilson M. and Kathryn (Fillman) Miller.

David was a 1951 graduate of Reading High School.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Reading, serving in the church consistory and choir.

David was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1953 to 1955 during the Korean War and also in the Marine and Army Reserve for 4 years.

He was employed by Lucent Technology, formerly Western Electric, as an analyst before retiring in 1994 and as a school bus driver for New Rhoads, BCIU and the Wilson School District.

David was a member of the Blue Lodge 62, Reading Consistory Scottish Rite and the Rajah Shriners and Chanters.

He was a military history enthusiast and an avid Yankees fan. David coached JV soccer for Oley Valley High School and youth league. He also refereed for youth and high school soccer programs for 22 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gregory D. Miller, companion of Irene Kennedy, Reiffton; Gary L., husband of Rebecca Miller, Lower Alsace and Jennifer L., wife of Mark Bingaman, Sinking Spring. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Courtney Rhoads, Ryan Bingaman, Kathryn Miller and Everett Miller.

David is predeceased by his brothers, Morris Fillman, Wilson G. Miller and William H. Miller.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 6 p.m. in Grace Lutheran Church, Reading. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
