David L. Klusewitz, 74, Shillington, died Jan. 25 at 10:38 p.m. in St. Joseph Medical Center, where he had been a patient six days.
His wife, Barbara E. (Kirlik) Klusewitz, died Jan. 31, 1999.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond and Fannie (Eisenhower) Klusewitz.
Klusewitz was employed for 35 years as a truck driver by Consolidated Freight Co., Reading, retiring in 1991.
He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.
Klusewitz was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a life member of the Hunter-Liggett Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 38, Reading; American Legion Post 480, Kutztown; and the Cushion Peak Rod & Gun Club.
Klusewitz was head usher for many years at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading, until 1998.
Surviving are a son, Lawrence V., Wyomissing; and a daughter, Kathleen E. (Klusewitz) Roche, Shillington, with whom he resided.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren and a great-grandson.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Christine A. (Klusewitz) Sparks, in 2003.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Laureldale. Friends may call at the Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, Saturday, 8 to 9 a.m. Contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
