David R. Grill

David R. Grill, 71, of Wernersville, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the care of Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Rosemary K. (Deissler), whom he married on September 5, 1987.

Born in Reading to the late Paul H. and Mary E. (Klopp) Grill, David graduated from Reading High School in 1970. He enjoyed a career of 41 years as an Electrical Designer for Gilbert Associates, now known as WorleyParsons.

Gifted with a perfect sense of pitch, David was given a guitar for Christmas in 1965 and he taught himself to play by ear. Listening to him play his 12 string Rickenbacker guitar was like magic, and he could really sing. A member of the Berks County Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, David played with bands such as EMAK, Wells Fargo, and Number Nine (a Beatles tribute band).

In addition to his love for music, David took great enjoyment in travel. He and Rosemary especially loved their trips to Cape May, Atlantic City, and internationally, especially to Italy.

David's memory is treasured by his wife, Rosemary. He has loved their many furbabies over the years, including their current cat, Loki. David is also survived by his sister, Judy Marsden (Joe) of Sinking Spring; his nephew, Steven Marsden of Sinking Spring; his aunt, Joanne Grill of West Reading; and his cousin, Steve Grill (Maria) of Shillington.

Services for David are private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be offered to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, is entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
